A combination of cafe and B&B, the food is excellent, rooms are good, and include an ensuite, and the hosts are very friendly and keen to please. Rooms include a choice of breakfast, including cooked Welsh breakfast. The cafe closes around 1730, but if you don’t mind an early dinner it saves you finding somewhere else to eat.

The drive to the cafe is through lush and rolling countryside which was a real treat in itself!
Jonathan and Paola are perfect hosts. The cafe is beautifully decorated and comfortable. The food is delicious, we were there for lunch I had a pulled pork sandwich and my husband had a ham and cheddar panini and the best coffee he has had in Wales. Both sandwiches were served with the most delicious salad. Salad is often a garnish. This salad was a thing of beauty on its own. Fresh and colourful and crisp. With a delicate and flavorful dressing. I could have had it all by itself! We finished our meal off with a beautiful Victoria sandwich served with fresh fruit. All the food is prepared by Jonathan, and you can tell that a lot of care goes into every element. Can’t wait to go back. What a find!

Stopped over on the Wye Valley Walk and received a warm welcome with excellent rooms. Breakfast was up there with the best and the coffee worth a visit on its own account.
Packed lunches were provided along with the offer to fill our flasks. There were sufficient sandwiches for the next day too!
Having left my jacket in the wardrobe, the offer to post it home was immediate and duly carried out.

My mother stayed in the separate annex for three nights, on a family visit . It,s hard to find a B and B that really looks after their guests. Most just provide the bare essentials and no personal touch.delighted with the service, the facilities and most off all nothing was too much trouble.Superb food, amazing location. If you are just passing through or want a base to go Exploring the many river walks-stop here, you will love it.m well placed for Hay, glasbury, Builth,Brecon.

This has turned in to our regular place to eat. The food was a real surprise – really tasty – beautifully cooked meals at an amazing price. Lovely cakes and coffee and a really friendly welcoming atmosphere. The main room is warm and cozy with a log burner lit in the winter and there is always good music on in the background. The owners are a lovely couple and always a joy to see. We used to visit other local cafes in the area but find it difficult to drive past this one! We haven’t stayed there as we are local but I imagine it would be a great place to stay.

Amazing place. Friendly and welcoming. The food is out of this world. I have been here several times, and can honeslty say that this is the best cafe in the area. Be it breakfast, lunch, tea or just a coffee and cake. I strongly recommend if your passing pop in you’ll love it xxx

We stayed here for two nights on business and were overwhelmed by the welcome and quality of the hospitality. The room was well equipped and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was of a very high quality with outstanding coffee. We shall be back. Many thanks.

Stopped at the Wye Knot with friends for one night. Rooms were good. Jonathan and Paola really looked after us. Had an early dinner, soup and pork which, which was very tasty, accompanied by some inexpensive, good quality wine. Breakfast, which was included in the room rate was a choice of cereals, including a good muesli, followed by a hearty fry up. To top it all Jonathan made us a fantastic pack up for the hill. Would definitely recommend.

I stayed overnight (with my dog) in mid-October 2016. I was made really welcome by Jonathan and Paola, the room was lovely, there was fresh milk as well as UHT for making drinks with, plus a slice of the most delicious cake. The bed & bedding was great, so I slept well. Breakfast was really excellent, cereal, full-english fried meal, wholemeal toast plus fresh tea and real coffee. Fully deserve all five stars, I recommend this place unreservedly.

Found this Café on our travels on the 8th September. Stopped for lunch and the service, food and prices were excellent. Both Jonathan and Paulo offered superb service. Well worth a visit. My wife and I had lunches plus a drink and the cost was £20.50. They should charge more for the quality of food they provide.
